Architecture analyser is used to support the definition of a component architecture for an existing application.  Jumar architects have defined a formalised process they use for deriving and refining a component architecture and Architecture analyser supports each stage of the process by providing functionality to define and refine the architecture. 

Architecture analyser uses an extract from a Gen model so it knows about the objects in the model, including the entity types and action diagrams.  It then helps assign them to an appropriate component by providing a series of reports that help to analyse the affinity of each object to a candidate component.   The tool supports extensive ‘What if’ type analysis to show the consequences of moving the boundaries of a component.
